With the latest version the password field is alway's mandatory.
We never had that, in the field editor the settings of the password field is niet mandatory, but the system is still asking for a password..
Password has always been mandatory. Joomla can't create a user without a password. If you want CB to generate one you need to enable that in CB > Configuration > Registration or set the password field to not display on registration. In both cases one should be randomly generated. You can not have the password field displayed on registration then submit the form with an empty password.
