No, you can have as many fields as you like assigned to a field group.

Yes, fields can be reused in as many field group fields as you need.

Yes, nested field groups are supported allowing for some very complex use cases.

By default the field will no longer be usable as a standalone field and can only be used inside the field groups it is assigned to, but you can optionally allow the field to continue to function as normally.

Yes, while tricky it is very doable. Field group substitutions have a very specific field name structure of GROUP_ROW_FIELD. So if a field group field is named cb_group and it contains a cb_country field and you want the country value from row 1 the name used in substitutions would be "cb_group_1_cb_country".
