Pagination on Query field with multiple rows output?

Hello,

It is very nice how you can design the header, row and footer of output from a multiple row Query field in the display tab. What I am missing is pagination. Sometimes the query field returns to much rows for just one page. Is there a way to create multiple pages with a predefined amount of rows?

This is not a definitive answer, but I do not think you can do such pagination without using PHP code.

If this statement I made is correct, you would need to create a new CB plugin to handle what you are attempting to do with a query field.

I was used to do it another way around with customized php-code. But as Query fields are so complete with the display tab for multiple row output I thought it should be there (but I was not seeing it).

With CB2.0 your product is really complete and mature so I try to get rid of all my hacks with custom injected code.

Yup - that is the point - the need to hack is no longer there (well I guess it is for those who just want something quick and dirty and do not care if it hack is over-written on next upgrade).

A new plugin is also a clean solution

P.S. I think Kyle has on his 2do list to create a PHP field type

I already started with writing my own plugins. But I want as less as possible tailor made software as the maintenance and testing for new Joomla and CB versions will then rest on my shoulders :S

Please, don't interrupt Kyle for this. let our guru first do the important stuff like the new GroupJive version.

I've around 20 projects planned after the current plugins are upgraded. A PHP Fieltype is absolutely planned. It'll likely be one of the first new projects I release after current plugin upgrades are done given how simple it is as CB Query Field can be used as a base for it.
