What newsletter module to use? Is YaNC dead?

From reading the reviews on Joomla.org's extensions section, one might assume that YaNC is dead, unsupported and non-functioning. Since it seems to be the one that is recognized here as being integrated with CB, I was wondering:

a) is YaNC still the recommended solution - i.e.indeed working and continuing development, or

b) is there something else I should be using?

No its not dead. Beat mentioned he'd be working with Adam (the original developer) on improving this component.

I noted this is an usual question in this period around forums, so I hope and suggest to CB administrators to post some official articles here and on joomla, because around there are really bad feedbacks on Yanc ...
