MyBlog is a great multi-user solution over mamblog was created by mediaguru
I've got MyBlog running now. It's MUCH better than mamblog. I believe it is a pay deal now but I think it's worth it.

On issue though is that it doesn't post into the jos_content the way I'd like. SO you can't edit the posts like content in the back end... That's a problem.

i can NOT confirm that for my Blog - i can edit the blog entry in the normal content backend

Ok after long troubles with category and section ID's I've got the ability to see and edit the content in the joomla back end. I think some insall problems I had were the reason. SO yES you can use the joom back end to edit the blog posts.
