Forgot User ID and password not working

Help,

About to launch the site and discovered a problem at the last minute. I did test the user ID and password recovery functions after installing CB in early January, and they worked as expected. But now they have stopped working. What could be wrong?

Environment
Joomla! 1.5.22
CB 1.3.1

Steps to reproduce:
1. Access the lost User ID from the login screen.
2. Enter the correct e-mail for a user.
3. Click send.
4. You get back to the login screen with no message in the upper part of the screen.
5. No mail sent.

- Password recovery fails in the same way.
- Other mail messages, including registration, are sent successfully.
- Same for all users.

What I have done:

- Disabled the only login-related extensions I have installed, CB Auti Welcome and Core Login Redirect. This did not solve the problem.
- Run all CB's database check tools. All lines green.
- Temporary disable the .htaccess file, no change.
- Check the site error log, no entries.
- I have done some hardening actions like changig the super admin user ID and database prefix. Is it possible that these things affect the recovery functions?

Yes, other e-mails work.
No, nothing in the error logs.

I tried it also on your site and something is failing.

You need to turn on Joomla debugging and also check your server error log.
