Preventing spammers from registration.

I've been having some trouble with spammers. I just realized they all use same string as name and user name. Is there a way to prevent this? Like automatically disapprove and send an email if name and username fields are same.

I think you need a Captcha plugin

there is one on joomlapolis

and some others on JED

You did not try the Captcha plugin - at least you do not appear to have purchased it.

I tried the captcha feature of the mambo itself.

I'm trying something called peoplesign right now. We'll see if it is better than captcha.
