ajax checker loads blank page

Hi all

I am running version 1.4 but just recently noticed when i load a new user i get to username checker and it loads a blank page - so I cannot work on the site - i have searched the forums and still trying to resolve...as yet i have drawn a blank.

i have the same problem
did you try to turn off the ajax email checker ?

yes i did but it ignores that and still goes blank when i try and save.
