Hi folks,

Before having CB, I had added manually some extra fields into the Joomla com_user, now using CB I'm adding again these extra fields into CB, but I want that CB uses its data from the com_user that are already filled with data as it does with the fields name, email, password, etc. How to achieve that for the extra fields I've added manually?

Thanks in advance.

You have hacked Joomla to do this, right?

Only non-hack solution for CB is the incubator CB Query field plugin available to Professional members.

Hi Nant, nice to meet you and thanks for your reply.
Yep, I've hacked Joomla to do this.
How I'm flat broken and my site doesn't provide any profit :0), what is the other option for not being Professional members and without a plug-in. So, a hack solution. To get to make it understand the com_user and its variable (text) like _ue_... for translations?

Any other solution will be appreciated.

Have a nice day.

Hi folks,

Forget it, I just got to solve and hack it by myself. So now CB gets to recognize the Joomla com_user extra fields I had added manually before as I mentioned above, also I got to make the _UE_ definition for these fields too for both languages. As soon as I get time, I'll post an article about it at iLucato (my blog), so, who is in the same situation can use this workaround.

Thanks and all the best.

Great - keep us informed.

I would create new CB fields and migrate date to them.

Hmmm, this article it take longer than I expected. :0)

I got that CB would read the com_user, but now I have two other issues;

1. Now I need to find out another hack of how to make CB writes the added extra fields back to com_user extra fields. :0)

Because it does SQL=INSERT INTO `jos_comprofiler`, that I need to find it and I need some thing like SQL=INSERT INTO `jos_users`

2. After using those embedded tools to sync and so on, the jos_comprofiler aren't showing the info from com_users that I had got to hack. Urghhhhh! Maybe uninstalling CB and installing over would solve that. Ohhhh huge doubt. :0)

A little headache today, but I like puzzles. :0)

Any help will be appreciated.
