Please tell me how to change the Community builder 1.8 default avatar gallery.
Which size of image and in which format allowed to add in the gallery?
Can we remove the dog.gif, duck.gif etc

You will find the images here:

YOURJOOMLA -> images -> comprofiler -> gallery

Believe it or not, I never used the default gallery, yet ;-) I guess you can just add and replace your own stuff. Also the image dimensions could be of your choice. Though, it might be possible that an automated CBupdate re-installs the default files!

I am wanting to do the same thing. I need to change the format, size and file names. where can you update that info? I have swapped out the images over but need to change the code?

As I mentioned in my first post... I have never tried it personally, yet ;-)

What happens when you add/replace the default files? Do they show-up in avatar gallery screen? Or do you have any issues with file type and names? ... just try it out...

Thanks - it worked. Now I am trying to change the columns to 3 (now 5). I have read a few comments but am a bit a novice to where to change this code. I understand Joomla modules but am usually using a savvy template that makes it easy. Any specific info on how to change the columns for this gallery from 5 to 3?

Unfortunately this is a core hack. Not just a CB profile template change. So, don´t expect an official support answer ;-) In general, I would not change anything in core, because you are getting in trouble on each update. Duplicating and changing the default profile is suggested...

All I can give you is the filename and line numbers. Just a quick search, so you will have to check this twice... AND make a backup! Look into:

com_comprofiler.html.php

search for the term "gallery" or look around line# 555

There is the table generation and Col-Spans ;-)
