Membership plan page was created by dilum_tharaka
Hello,

I'm using the free community builder version in my website and I'm planning to buy the full version.but there are some doubts I want to clear.

1. How can I create a membership plan page?(See the image for the layout I want)
I couldn't find any tutorials for this.
As I’m running a football coaching practice website,I want to give my users to select a membership plan,so it'll be easy to manage them.I really like community builder so I thought I would ask help from the forum.

I would really appreciate any help.
Regards,
Dilum.

CBSubs is our subscriptions solution for CB. It is a separate purchase (not included in Professional membership but it is included in Developer membership).

More info on CBSubs can be found here:
www.joomlapolis.com/cb-solutions/cbsubs

Please note that we are using CBSubs on this site - so you can see it in action on our registration page also.

Hello Nick,

Thanks again for the reply,I really like the way you engage with the customers. :)
Before I go ahead and purchase, I need to know if CB can do any or all of the following and if so to what extent:
  1. Allow users to save articles into their own user area to retrieve when they choose depending on membership they select.

  2. Can I add or assign videos,E-books according to the membership.
Can the members save articles to their user area.

  3. In terms of selling additional products can we do this through CB builder, such as Videos, Presentations, Webinars etc. in addition to the membership plan they select?

  4. Will it let a user upgrade from a selected plan to a higher tier?

  5. Can we offer discounted membership for those who have been with us for a year or other length of time?

  6. If and when they can save practices (articles) can we preview the practice with image as we do at the moment in mosaics? (Please check the link: touchtight.com/practices/by-age/5-8 ) We are using the RokSprocket module from rockettheme.)

  7. If they can save practices can they save them in different areas/categories.ie level 1 & 2, B Licence, A Licence?(Please check the site.)

As this is a long term plan I need to make sure that the Community builder will fit in to my needs.
I really appreciate your help.

Regards,
Dilum

Please see answers below ...

Allow users to save articles into their own user area to retrieve when they choose depending on membership they select.

Some tools that could help you here:
You can use the built-in CB Blogs feature for users to create "articles".
And you can protect the CB BLogs tab against a CBSubs subscription requiring a specific level to access/view.
You can also protect read access to and Joomla article and require a subscription to view (you can have intro part free and require a subscription for full read).

Can I add or assign videos,E-books according to the membership.
Can the members save articles to their user area.

If theses are stored in joomla articles you can follow previously described features to protect the articles against subscriptions.

If the videos/e-books are stored in some other extension, then CBSubs can also be used to protect access to them either by limiting access to the extension based on CBSubs subscptions or by using the URL=parts protection mechanism.

In terms of selling additional products can we do this through CB builder, such as Videos, Presentations, Webinars etc. in addition to the membership plan they select?

CBSubs can be used to sell merchandise products, but it doe snot have a traditional cart like other e-commerce extensions. CBSubs is primarily designed for subscriptions.

Will it let a user upgrade from a selected plan to a higher tier?

Yes, and you can even automatically subtract the residual value left in the current subscription from the upgrade value.

Can we offer discounted membership for those who have been with us for a year or other length of time?

Yes, CBSubs has a very powerful promotions feature that lets you program such things.

If and when they can save practices (articles) can we preview the practice with image as we do at the moment in mosaics? (Please check the link: touchtight.com/practices/by-age/5-8 ) We are using the RokSprocket module from rockettheme.)

No idea - there is no integration with this tool and I have no experience with it.

If you can do what you want by taking advantage of joomla ACL permissions, then yes CBSubs can help you by putting subscribers in additional joomla groups.

If they can save practices can they save them in different areas/categories.ie level 1 & 2, B Licence, A Licence?(Please check the site.)

I do not think this is possible unless the Joomla ACL structure can be utilized.

As this is a long term plan I need to make sure that the Community builder will fit in to my needs.
I really appreciate your help.

Dilum

I tried to answer as best I could based on the understanding I have about your use case.

1. Can the users save specific articles that I have created into their area. Either by favouriting them or otherwise?(e.g. Article - touchtight.com/practices/by-age/5-8/484-ball-each-dribbling )
The idea is that if users sign up to a specific plan they have access to certain articles which will be tiered Level 1,2 and 3.
Then in addition we want them to be able store these articles/sessions in their area, so when they sign in they have immediate access to the plans they have chosen.

2. Can I add a button or something like that to a article?,so when that is clicked it automatically add the specific article to the users area.

3. Is there a way to do download the articles to the user area rather than to their PC?

Sorry for all these question but I really need to solve these before I buy the component.

Thank you,
Dilum.
