Disappeared? Did you migrate your install? Did someone delete them? Avatars are all stored in the images/comprofiler/ folder.

no images are all in the folder but don't get displayed in the forntend.... i've just installed a new extension: AcyMailing and the realtive cb plugin!

Disable its CB plugin and see if it resolves the issue.
