[SOLVED] How do I import articles into CBBlog was created by chucknb28409
Hi,

How do I import articles into cbBlog. When I select the category and access (I leave owner blank) and hit process it tells me there is nothing to process, yet I have articles that have not been imported. What might I look for to fix this.

Thanks

You don't import anything. It has no import feature. Do you mean how do you create a new blog? Is it configured correctly? Did you create a CMS section and select that section in CB Blogs? Does that section have categories? Owner isn't supposed to be blank. That's how it knows who the blog belongs to.

Hi,

Yes I have a CMS section called Blogs and it contains the following categories:

Web Site, Tips & Tricks, How To

There isn't anything weird about using the '&' in the categories is there, does the symbol cause problems? My Owner is blank so should this be an ID number that matches the profile they are listed in??? Can I have more than one author under each category or is this owner just the creator of the Blog. I uninstalled the CB blog and reinstalled it, but that did not fix the problem? Can I just go into phpAdmin and insert the proper owner in the DB. Where in the CBdata fields is this?

Thanks

Shouldn't matter.

It's not supposed to be blank. Where did you create the blog entries? Are they pre-existing Joomla entries? If so you need to assign them to a specific user. Owner should be the user id of the person who owns the blog entry.

Can I have more than one author under each category or is this owner just the creator of the Blog.

It's just the creator of that blog entry.

I uninstalled the CB blog and reinstalled it, but that did not fix the problem?

It's not going to fix your blog entries. You need to edit them and add an owner.

Can I just go into phpAdmin and insert the proper owner in the DB. Where in the CBdata fields is this?

Just edit the blog from CB > Plugin Management > CB Blogs > Blogs and give it an owner.

HI,

Perhaps I am misunderstanding how CB blogs works... If I create an article and publish it under the Blogs (category) --> web site (sub-category) does CB Blogs see it automatically if I set setup CB Blogs to read those categories? Or do I have to recreate (copy) the content from the article into a new CB Blog??

Thanks

You need to create a blog within CB Blogs (go to profile and click New Blog or create from backend within CB Blogs). You're treating CB Blogs like CB Articles. It's a Blog plugin. It's not for general article display; use CB Articles for that.
