[SOLVED] CB Article plugin do not show articles

Hi,

I see that user articles are no longer shown in the CB Articles tab, it always says "You have no articles." or "This user has no articles."

What's wrong?

CB Articles doesn't suddenly stop working. Try to recall what you last changed to result in this. CB Articles version? CB version? Joomla version? Navigate to CB Articles configuration and ensure it's properly configured (not excluding large sections/categories of articles, etc..). It also only shows published articles.

PARTIALLY-SOLVED: it was working fine before this upgrade. It was setted to exclude some categories of joomla articles. It should show only articles from sub-categories of one main category; so I excluded the root section category.

It worked fine till now with this configuration:

main cat -> exclude
subcat 1 -> not exclude
subcat 2 -> not exclude
subcat 3 -> not exclude

Now it works fine if I not exclude also main cat, but I think that's not the correct way it should work, 'cause I could have some articles in the main cat that I was to exclude, as I did till now, and till now it worked correctly.

Maybe a bug?

Not a bug, working as intended. You can't exclude the parent category of sub categories and expect it to display the sub categories. It checks for its parent category id and sees if it's excluded and if it is then it excludes it self; it only does this 1 category back though as recursively looking through would be a heavy check.

With that said instead of using Exclude Section you can try using Exclude Category instead, but regardless it's not ideal to exclude sub categories parent category and expect the sub categories to still display.

It did before, and I thought you developed it that way 'cause I could show only sub categories articles but not the main category articles.

That was a bug where it wasn't properly checking the parent category if it was excluded or not. Latest CB Articles had fixed that.
