I just experimented with the Admin module CB admin navigate module and switched views to see what the drop down list looked like in a table form.
It actually overrides the page sufficiently so as to disallow me to switch back as all the vital save buttons are now covered over and I cannot access them.
What to do?
You don't have "Display Mode" set to "Drop-Down Menu". You'll need to edit the admin nav module and set its display to "Drop-Down Menu" as it defaults to "Table" in the panel position.

I believe I understand that Kyle, but you see, the admin area including all the necessary tools for me to even attempt that IS HIDDEN behind the usually narrow admin toolbar which now thanks to the the new table view extends to 700px (7 inches?) down the page. The control panel etc does not reconform itself to the enlarged toolbar but rather is active and hidden behind it. AAAAAAAARGH!
I have just replicated the problem on another site.
As far as I can see the CB Admin menu option to view as a table is preventing me from doing anything else on the sites until I can get it back to a drop down menu, and I cant achieve that until I can SEE the admin area.
I am happy to let somebody in to my admin area to help me sort this out.
Any ideas at all?
Looks like I fixed it. Temporarily renaming and thus disabling the module's php file allowed the return of the toolbar and admin menu which enabled me to access the modules setup in the backend.
Renaming the folder, editing directly in database, or using Chrome/Firebug to remove the element from the page should all assist in temporarily disabling it so you can navigate away. The new backend Joomla template unfortunately is not designed to catch issues such as a larger menu (if menu goes 2-3 rows deep you lost your save buttons as they're absolute positioned under a 1 row menu); believe these design issues are planned to be resolved in a later Joomla release.
