[SOLVED] CB Connect working yesterday with LinkedIn, not today

Yesterday I set up CB Connect with LinkedIn, to use LI for registration and to import some LI profile fields into CB.

For my testing yesterday, I would click on the "Sign in with LinkedIn" button, then provide my LI email address and password, and then it worked as expected - my CB account was created and LI fields were imported. For different tests, I would delete my user in Joomla and then repeat the process again.

Today when I try to follow the same process for more testing, after I click on the "Sign in with LinkedIn" button and provide my LI email address and password, I get a error message on the Joomla registration page "Please complete the username and password fields.".

I don't see any changes in CB Connect configuations, and I have cleared my web browser cache and cookies.

Any idea why this isn't working today like it did yesterday?

Seams to be working ok in all my tests on 3 test sites. Has anything changed on your site between now and then? Something that perhaps could interrupt the profile update process? You certainly shouldn't get the Joomla registration page unless you've a 3rd party solution acting on those triggers. Please navigate to Extensions > Plug-in Manager and review your existing System and User plugins as perhaps a 3rd party plugin is conflicting.

I haven't installed any other 3rd party plugins, or made any CB configuration changes, or changed anything else on the site that I can see. Maybe I did something inadvertent, but I have double checked everything I can think of and I am not seeing anything.

Should I open a support ticket and provide an administrator u/p for this? Please let me know what you suggest to hopefully get this resolved more quickly!

No, there's no difference between our tickets and these forums except privacy. It's not going to be any quicker and forces me to juggle back and forth between two systems. Only use tickets if you've a very private issue needing addressed. As I am already helping you here it'd be pointless to open a ticket.

Please understand our support works in stages of debugging. We do not instantly just review and fix your install without first having you do basic debugging and answering a set of questions relevant to the issue to isolate what could be the cause (I review source code based off your answers to see possible causes). At this point it's time to review as I can't explain why you'd get a Joomla registration page as there is no code in place to do that.

Okay thanks Kyle, I'll PM you as you requested.

One point I may not have communicated clearly about. When I said in my original message:

I get a error message on the Joomla registration page "Please complete the username and password fields.".

By Joomla registration page I simply meant the registration page on the Joomla site - I was trying to make it clear that wasn't a LI message.

Have reviewed your install and I don't see any issues. I was able to repeat register and login using my personal LinkedIn account. It looks like you had an invalid user though. It appears you deleted your user through Joomla instead of through CB > User Management. This caused their CB row to still exist in database and break your ability to login/register again with that LinkedIn ID. I've ran synchronization to clear the invalid user up. Please try logging in again and see if your issue persists.
