[SOLVED] Add Connection but where? was created by paurray
From page 90 of the manual

“In order to initiate a connection, the user wishing to establish a connection must first visit the profile of the user he wants to connect to. In most cases this is accomplished by accessing a user list and clicking on a user row. When you have the users’ profile you want to connect to in your browser you will see the Add Connection link.”

I am not seeing the “Connection link” on a profile.

SEE SCREENSHOT: otherPROFLIE

Further I am not seeing a “Manage Connections” of “Manage Actions” in the Profile as documented in page 92

SEE SCREENSHOT: myPROFILE

I have tried searching the CB Fields & Tabs for both of the above but am not finding anything that corresponds!

I got this working before as I am connected with people.

As always I guess, I am missing one of 100 check boxes. And tips would be great?

CB Connections plugin is installed and activated!

thanks

The link is provided on the CB Menu tab, which you don't appear to have present on your profiles. You can either use the CB Menu tab on profile or use CB Content module to render it as a module.

Ahhhh, this rings a bell.

The CB Menu tab also links back to the CB Site.

I remember I posted about this before and had a link going to some external Site explaining how to do this.

You were a little bit shocked because apparently only paid members are allowed to do this.

I will look into the CB Content module solution.

When I switch the CB Menu back on, it is just too much, menu overload!

thanks

Paul

ps

this one yeah?

pps

It is a Joomla plugin and not cb plugin B)

ERROR: Could not find a CB XML setup file in the package.

Not that's the CB Content Bot, which allows substitutions in Joomla articles. It's also a Joomla extension so you do not install it through CB. You need CB Content Module, which is also a Joomla extension. You can download it from the Advanced downloads section. Please be sure to also download the CB Content Module Guide, which is directly below the CB Content Module download.

OK great thanks for putting me on the right track. I found the module in question, read the instructions and installed it. It definitely looks way better now. I just have on minor problem and was wondering if you have any ideas. Sometimes the little logos go missing next to the edit options. I am seeing no pattern.

They are usually there at the beginning. then I navigate to a second or third page and they disappear. If I navigate back to the original page they are usually gone again as well! Any ideas?

The logos only show up on profile pages, because the CSS is in CBs template files and not Joomlas template files. So they'll only be present where CB template is loaded. To have the module load in CBs template simply edit your module and set "Load CB Template" to "Enable".
