Running Cron Jobs With Mailer

Hi, I'm still confused about when and how to run a cron job using mailer.

1. Do I submit the cron URL to my host for every mailer that I create?
2. Can I trigger a mailer without sending a cron job to my host?

Also I get a message at the top of my Automation Settings page that says:

Missing private xml method ajaxversioncheck

Do I need to install this?

Thanks

Mike

Depends on how your host handles CRON. They may have an interface in your hosting panel for you to configure CRON. You'll need to contact your host regarding this.

2. Can I trigger a mailer without sending a cron job to my host?

Yes, just click the URL.

I've no idea what that is, sorry. Ensure CBSubs is up to date and ensure CB Paid Subscriptions plugin is enabled.

Thanks Kyle, I'm clicking the "Url of cron task to both process mailer rules into queue and then to process mailqueue". When I do, the messages populate in the queue but they have a "last date to send" of 11/29/1999?!?
I did not select an ending date in the set-up window. I assume this will not allow me to send the message? Where and how do I change the "last date to send"?

That's a known bug due to the "But do not send message if it's later than:" parameter. Set it to at least 1 day. Then clear out your queue. Now click the link and it should queue up fine.

Whew! It worked. Emails were sent. Hopefully one last question :S

If I create a mailer to trigger at 5 minutes after subscribing to subscription, then which URL do I click for the automated settings that will automatically send it at that time?

If I create a mailer to trigger at 5 minutes after subscribing to subscription, then which URL do I click for the automated settings that will automatically send it at that time?

There are 3 URLs provided. They function as follows (in order as seen in Automation Settings).

1. Process mailer rules to queue. This parses through subscriptions and adds them to the queue if they match any of the mailer rules.

2. Process queue into emails. This parses through the queue and sends out the emails.

3. This does 1 then does 2.

So with the above you'd use 3 if you want to process then send all at once.
