[SOLVED] Use a password to register was created by andrew432
A groupjive group is created using auto actions upon registration, the user added a password (text field) at registration to be used for other members to register and join the group.

On the registration form for a specific plan I need to only allow registration if 2 conditions are met, a group is selected from a cbgjautojoin dropdown list, and content of a text field matches the content of a text field provided by the owner of the group (like a password)

Please tell me the best way to accomplish this.

regards,
Andrew

Joomla 2.5.17, standard SEF URL's with suffix
CB 1.9.1, Auto Actions, Groupjive
CB Subs 3.0.0

Edit your CBSubs plan then on the Workflows tab add conditions for both those fields. That's the only way to condition plan display based off field values.

Thanks for the reply, they select their group, and then enter the access cose/password to sign up, each group owner has the password stored in a field in their profile, this is what the new members need to enter to register.

I tried this but it just hides the plan, I need the plan to be visible, am I missing something here?

regards,
Andrew

Sorry, I'm just not understanding your usage. You have 1 user that has a password stored to their account. You then have other users that must enter that same password to register? If that's correct you need CB Query Field installed then you need to use Query validation feature that it provides on your field so the value the user entered can be validated against the password fields of your other users. You then need to set your plan to display if that field has a value.

Yes that's correct, it's a group membership, the group owner sets a password when he registers for his group to register under a different CB Subs plan.

If that's correct you need CB Query Field installed then you need to use Query validation feature that it provides on your field so the value the user entered can be validated against the password fields of your other users. You then need to set your plan to display if that field has a value.

Ok I will set this up, I need the plan always to display though, hopefully this can be acomplished.

Thanks.

Just don't add a condition to it then the field will serve the purpose of validating the password they entered.
