query field executes only in profile edit mode

I included a field of type "query" in the "contect info" tab. The label is there all the time but the query gets executed and displays results only when a user edits his profile.

How do I get the field to execute the query allways?

You need to adjust the parameters under "Location". You can enable it for profile view, profile edit, registration, and userlists individually.

All the locations are enabled except for registration, so it should work and it does as I stated above because the label is there. Only that the query is not executed on the profile view when NOT in edit mode THIS is what I need to solve, not the location.

You need to provide your query. The fields it's substituting in may not be available during profile view. Both profile edit and profile view have different access/display checks.

Could you please provide documentation (or pointer to doc) on what is and isn't available in each view and what the different access/display checks are. I have the same problem and am wrestling with exactly how the Query field type works correctly.

You need to provide your query and parameters for the query usage for me to suggest anything. There's no detailed documentation beyond the substitution documentation below as it just executes a normal database query after passing it through substitutions first.
