Groupjive edit group doesn't allow change parent

10 years 8 months ago #241451 by angelokomo
Hi,

I need that the administrator of a group can edit and move it to another parent group.

I see that a superadmin can do that, but not the group administrator. Is any way to get this?

Thanks.

Only CB Moderators can move groups from 1 parent to another. Normal users can not do perform this operation as it is very heavy. GJ has to go through all the tables, change ids, etc.. so it should not be used regularly.

I understand, but why the group administrator can't do that and the moderator can? Administrator has more privileges isn't it?

Group Administrator does not have more privilege than a CB Moderator. A Group Administrator is just a management position for the data in the group it self. Even Group Owner can't move a group to a new parent. It's not something they should be allowed to do as it could easily be abused or cause data loss.

That's entirely up to you. You don't need to be the owner to change settings in the group as CB Moderators have privileges above owner. Being a CB Moderator you can edit the group as if you owned it, moved it, etc..
