Required select fields get error message "This field is required!"

Hi... I looked through the documentation and through the boards, but didn't find an answer to this. I have two required drop-down single select fields set up in my CB registration form. During registration, they come up with the error message "This field is required!" even after making a selection.

The site is multilingual (English and Spanish), and the fields have corresponding language tags (i.e., Field Title: {lang en}Gender{/lang}{lang es}Sexo{/lang}, and Field value 1: {lang en}Select one{/lang}{lang es}Seleccione uno{/lang}, Field value 2: {lang en}Female{/lang}{lang es}Hembra{/lang}, and Field value 3: {lang en}Male{/lang}{lang es}Varón{/lang}).

All other required fields in the registration process work as expected. I just have trouble with the two fields that are drop-down single select fields. I also tried creating them as radio buttons, but those came up with the same error message.

Are you using CB Profile Pro? It's known to cause issues like this among many other. Are you using CB Conditional to try and condition various fields? Is the validation error in an alert popup or does it show directly below the input?

I am using the latest version of CB Pro, and am not using CB Conditional. It is a validation error in an alert popup when clicking the registration button.

No, not CB Quickstart Pro, but CB Profile Pro which is a 3rd party extension and CB plugin. If it's install disable it and re-test. If the validation error is showing up as an alert then the issue is happening PHP side, which could be a 3rd party CB plugin or Joomla user plugin. Disable non-core CB plugins within CB > Plugin Management until the issue goes away. If it does not repeat for 3rd party Joomla user plugins in Extensions > Plug-in Manager.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did not have CB Profile Pro installed. I have disabled every non-core CB plugin. There was only one 3rd Party Joomla user plugin, and that has been disabled. I'm still getting the same error message.

As well, I have a test profile already set up, and have discovered that after selecting options from the drop down and multicheckbox fields, those selections disappear after attempting to save the profile edits.

You'll need to repeat disabling plugins within Extension > Plug-in Manager except for 3rd party System plugins, which can globally act on any Joomla trigger. Something is interrupting your user save or binding process. Enable debug mode and maximum error reporting in Joomla global configuration then re-test and see if any fatal errors are thrown during registration or profile edit.
