Make certain info linked only to one user with CB privacy

A very good morning.
I need some help with making certain info linked only to one user with CB privacy. I apologize if I am repeating myself, but I cant quite seem to find what I am looking for.
So here's what I have done so far:

-Created 2 users for my site

-Installed CB Privacy plugin

-Created a tab called 'Min Oversikt'('My details') and set it so that the user cannot edit the details placed in the tab.


I have also chosen that the veiw access level is Registered



-I created 2 fields, one for each user. But I don't see any options that give me the possibility of connecting the fields to the right users. Right now both fields are visible on both users profiles


Am I doing this right?
Is it the fields that I have to link to the individual user?
And how do I make the info in the fields visable?
I've copied in some text the the 'My details for JaneS' but I dont see the text when I'm logged in as JaneS....



Do I need to enable/disable, add/remove something in the config of CB Privacy?

I don't understand what you're trying to do, sorry. From what information you've provided you only disabled the Edit display of the tab those fields are on. That means they won't show up in profile edit, which ha nothing to do with profile view. CB Privacy can not hide a field from the profile owner or a moderator; both always have profile view access.

If you just want to display HTML/Text as a field on a users profile you don't need CB Privacy for that. Create a Delimiter (now Custom HTML in CB 2.0) field and add your HTML/Text to the Description of the field. Description for normal fields just adds a description to it in profile edit and does not add any profile view output.

Yes. That's right. I did not want the user (who signs up) to edit the info which is not apart of their profile. I was pretty much just showing what I had discovered so far and the fact that I could not see what I should choose further.

What I needed CB Privacy for is so that the user that registers on the site will only be able to see info that concerns them self, not any other users. (I know that the profile is of course Private as I have disabled connections. I only want users to have access to their own info. At least for the moment.)
But what is very important for me to accomplish is that I need to be able to add text that will only be visible to it's own owner. Not everyone. (If I was to add a HTML/Text to the description of the field and make it for registered users, all registered users would be able to see the text, right?)

A field or article for user "John" needs to only be visible on the back end to the super user and on the front end on johns profile.
A field or article for user "Jane" needs to only be visible on the back end to the super user and on the front end on Janes profile.
I was under the impression that with CB Privacy I would be able to do this

I wanted to put the option to upload a document to one specific user so that they can print/download the file, but my Client does not wish that. They want to be able to enter a different text under each of the users profile that is visible only to the one they enter the text under, not to everyone.

Then for that create a textarea or editor field and disable its profile edit display with CB Privacy and set its privacy controls to moderator controlled with default to Private. Private fields profile view is visible to the owner and to the moderator only. Edit can then be done from backend or you can set the edit display to moderator only.

Based off your screenshots of your first post you only set the tab to not have an edit display and did not set any privacy controls for the field it self. You should have the following for the tab if you want it private to the user.

Display: Moderators can control privacy
Default: Private
Edit Display: No edit display at all

If you're not using latest release of CB Privacy for CB 2.0 then the moderator controlled privacy on tabs is bugged and you need to apply the below quickfix.
