Hi - how's things? On my site it appears that if someone didn't renew a plan for a year - then came back the following year, cbSubs is making them renew for both years.

For example one member stopped his subscription in 2013 - but came back this year and it asked him to renew for 2014 (which I am told is a bug??) - when he renewed for 2014 cbSubs immediately asked him to renew for 2015 - so in essence he paid twice??

Could this be something in the plan configuration?

Any ideas why this is happening? It only started last year and there hasn't been a problem previously.

Joomla/CB/CBSubs versions?
Are these calendar plans?
Your plan Pricing tab has a parameter - Manual renewal extends expiration date as follows:
what is it set to?

Hey nant - thanks for the reply:

Joomla! 2.5.22
CB: 1.9.1
CBSubs: 3.0.0

Yes - these are calendar year plans

Manual renewal extends expiration date is set to:

Renewal extends expiration date (without gap or overlap)

You should upgrade your Joomla to at least 2.5.28 for now and asap to Joomla 3.4.

So based on the parameter setting things appear to be working as configured.

You have configured the plan to extend expiration date and that is what is happening.

OK - so I've just read through the manual on this setting and think I have the right setting now:

Renewal starts at expiration date or at payment date

All members renew at the same time each year - the plan runs for 12 months from:

1 January - 31st December

Is that correct?

Yes that's correct, but you've configured it so when they expire it renews from their expiration date. So when they renew it renews from January 1st and onwards, always; even if they're 3 years behind they end up having to pay 3 years of renewals. Edit your plans then under the Pricing tab change "Manual renewal extends expiration date as follows" to "Renewal starts at expiration date or at payment date - whichever happens last (allows free gap)".
