I believe you maybe misunderstanding responsive design. It's meant to avoid making 5 sites. You don't need to make anything extra. It's built into the CSS (via Bootstrap), HTML structure, and our jQuery usages. CB just flat out works on phone, tablet, or PC. The same basically goes for a responsive Joomla template.Yes, the reason is that making a responsive site is like making 5 sites at the same time. I've done my site on 60% responsive and I gave up the responsiveness and decided to make an app after the site is ready.
No.Could you please consider an option to turn off the responsive design of CB.
It's built directly into the styling. You'd have to remove something like 40% or more of Bootstrap CSS for that. Once done you'd have to change all the variable widths from % to static pixels and much more. Even then this doesn't get rid of our responsive jQuery usage (e.g. tooltips open with click and hover to cover touch devices). For now I'll have to turn it off manually, obviously.

I don't understand how this conflicts with CB then. You may want to consider using a Joomla template that provides Bootstrap and just use Bootstrap classes. You then don't need to worry about it as it's already setup to be responsive. Aside from that I don't know what more to advise, sorry. Maybe a screenshot showing your problem could better help understand what's displaying wrong.I've a lot of custom content made by the cck extension Seblod, that's why I've said is difficult to make them all responsive.
