CB 2.0.10

I use an additional email field for userĀ“s alternate email.
Not mandatory and no rules.

When I edit a users profile as moderator, the additional email field is prefilled with my login name.
Obviously this is unwanted behaviour. :)

How can this be avoided?

EDIT: This also happens editing my own profile.

Most likely something in your browser is causing this.

It may be the case...

Browsers tested:
Firefox 39.0 - fails
IE 11.0 - Works fine.

It affects a LOT of users. I cant tell them all to change their browser settings.
I guess I will need to either remove tnat field or replace it as a regular text field?

It's browser autocomplete. There's an HTML5 parameter to turn it off, but it doesn't really matter as browsers and extensions basically just ignore it anyway.

Once we refactor our fields for a later CB release we'll be able to support customized HTML attributes being added to fields, which will allow that to be added.

It doesn't affect a lot of users, it affects only you editing them. Turn off or clear autocomplete for your site in your browser settings and it'll stop.

It also affects users editing their own profiles when they use FF.
I guess I have to find a workaround until fields are refactored. :)

It's only going to affect a select few that are using autocomplete or autofill feature of their browser. Even if autocomplete="false" is used the browser can just ignore it and it also makes autocomplete for registration no longer function when it isn't ignored. The real question is why is username autocompleting for the email field.

I think for now an acceptable fix is we force all edit inputs to not allow autocomplete and only allow autocomplete on registration.
