[SOLVED] Dduplicate system fields after upgrade to CB 2.0.10

I have just made the upgrade from cb1.9.1
The change has duplicated a number of the system fields, and CB will not let me unpublish them
They appear in duplicate in CB profiles in front and back end, but not in Joomla users area.
Can you explain what has happened and can I just attempt to delete these duplicates?

What fields are duplicated? If possible please provide a screenshot. If you haven't done so already please run the various database tools within CB > Tools.

Hi, sorry taken so long to reply
The duplicate fields are
First name
middle name
last name
user name
password
verify password
I have run the tools but it does not fix
I started again with a rebuild from a backup with cb1.9.1, tools clean
I upgraded to cb2.0.5 and all is well
Upgrade to 2.0.10 and the same symptom

Strange, never seen that happen before. Do duplicates exist in _comprofiler_fields ? Was CB 1.x install modified in any way before upgrading? I can't think of any reason for this or how it's even possible as the field names would conflict. At any rate you'll need to manually remove the duplicates in_comprofiler_fields.

yes
Was CB 1.x install modified in any way before upgrading?
No, it was installed new on a new J3.1 site and data sucked across from J2.5/cb1.9.1 with SP transfer because advertised Joomla upgrade just did not work.
Manual removal of the newer duplicates in_comprofiler_fields works, but I have to check that nothing is lost.
There were rather more duplicate fields than I had listed before, all system fields

That's probably where the issue happened. Your migration extension may not have transferred the data correctly.

Manual removal of the newer duplicates in_comprofiler_fields works, but I have to check that nothing is lost.

Removing the duplicates shouldn't cause any issues as the fields are stored to _comprofiler by name and not ID. It could cause issues if those field ids are stored to anything though like in CB Conditional usages, etc.. so you'll want to ensure the newest duplicate is the one removed instead of the original field. Be sure to also run CB > Tools database checks after removing the duplicates.
