Hello,

One of our user gets this message while trying to connect to our website "Warning You can't access the private section of this site." I do not understand why as he is not different from the others users. I changed his password 4 times but it does not work. Do you know where does this issue come from ?

Regards

Hi aalisg,

This seems to be a Joomla issue. I googled for that error, and found in first results various possible problems:

1. The problem seems to me is that logged in user has no permission to access either default page or some module(more likely user menu).

2. Or, less likely as the site works fine for other non-admin registered users (?), that the ACL assets are not complete (check groups assigned to user, and corresponding access levels).

Hello and thank you for your reply,

In fact When a user registers he chooses a "profile" between alumnus, pupil parent, former teacher and fills up fileds regardig this choice. There are no problems of login for an alumnus but the others "profiles" (pupil parent, former teacher...) can not login. I do not know where I should set that all "profiles" can access private pages.

It looks like you assign the users to a Joomla User Group depending on their profile, and that the Joomla groups are not configured correctly to be children from the Registered group. This is a Joomla configuration issue in the menu Users->Groups of Joomla.

Hello and thank you for your reply,

That is what I thought but all users who register are assigned to the registered group. It is a new version of our website but I can not see the difference with the fomer one. I realy do not understand what is going on.

"You can't access the private section of this site." (JERROR_LOGIN_DENIED) is a Joomla login error that comes directly from Joomla login API. Specifically it's testing if the user is authorized to login. Navigate to System > Global Configuration > Permissions and ensure "Site Login" permission is set correctly for your usergroups. If it is check if any 3rd party Joomla User or Authentication plugins are installed and disable them then retry.
