I needed to have a description visible (not as a tooltip), so I set the display to show the description as text in the configuration. This does not work at all... it smashes the 'required' star together with the description. I can't find a workaround with CSS, so I wanted to modify the registration template... is seems as though, looking at the files responsible, that this is not possible? Is that correct?
Also, there seems to be several templates in the file system besides bootstrap (i.e luna, osx, dark). I don't see anywhere to turn on/select these in the configuration. Are these just leftover folders from CB 1.9? I was thinking that maybe changing the template would make the registration look better.
It displays the description directly after the required icon as shown below.
You can style it using CSS as it's surrounded with a <span with the class cbFieldDescription. Each field row also has a unique ID specific to the field to style specific fields. You can also use HTML in your descriptions, which can output to format it further.

I see. Both the star (required) and the description are contained inside another span that is inline-block with the field, so I think I can workaround that by only displaying the description and putting my own star/required in the description instead. Thanks for the advice.
I got the registration looking pretty good, Kyle. Thanks... I see another issue that's related so I'll just post in the same thread...
The 'required' star is not showing up on the file upload field. The required functionality is working as it says 'this field is required' if you don't upload a file. Also, the description is not showing on that field either.
I can probably create a workaround... I can probably put all of this in the language file in place of where it says, "By uploading, you certify that you have the right to distribute this file.".
Should I just do that or would you rather address it as a possible bug? It seems that the whole element containing the icons and description text is missing from that field (i.e. <span class="cbFieldIcons"> element is not part of the field's output like other fields).
The required icon is displaying fine in my tests for file fields. See the below.
All the icons share the same span class so if your CSS isn't specific enough you may have hidden all the required icons with your CSS.
