Is it possible to send a URL with an action to reset a password for a specific user?

I know I can create a user using this method: www.joomlapolis.com/forum/153-professional-member-support/231927-rest-api-style-cb-user-registration-direct-url-using-auto-actions

But can I set just the password this way?

Bump?

Can I set up an auto-action that will reset a user's password based on a URL being visited?

There is no uch built-in auto action available.

I have no idea if you could do this with some code action - I cannot.

I'm able to set it initially via the registration with autoactions. I also see that there's something called "profile - update" under "actions" within autoactions. Would this not work?

I am sorry - is this something different?

Please post screen shots of your action and what you are assuming it should do.

Please note that CB Auto Actions is a tool.
It can do many things with extra coding. Our support here is primarily based on the tool and not the extra code needed to complete / handle every use case possible.

That said we always try to help as best we can with more guidance (but it is not always possible to code things for you).

So I can use this method to register a user and set their password initially on registration: www.joomlapolis.com/forum/153-professional-member-support/231927-rest-api-style-cb-user-registration-direct-url-using-auto-actions

I wanna do the same thing (via URL) to reset a password for an existing user. Is there a use case for updating user profile field data via URL request?

In the autoactions section I see a couple of things that look promising:
1. First screenshot - Type/Action and Action/Profile-Update
2. Second screenshot - Type/Field and Action/Password

Thanks for looking into this.
