Last Visit not registering was created by dbeezley
After a long time getting my Joomla/CB website organized, I just put out a message to stimulate traffic, looking for new logins of current members. I'm not registering the response I expected and I notice that a couple of users I know have logged on for the first time, no "Last Visit" is recorded. This brings up another question. The reason I know these newer members logged in is because the added Profile photos (avatars). I have it set for Admin approval and that has always worked in the past, but these Avatars went on without notification. Something is wrong and I need to fix it ASAP. I really need to be on top of it now that I'm trying to stimulate function and traffic to the site.

Not sure how they managed to login without a last visit date being stored unless they somehow logged in without using CBs login module. Is this happening consistently with every user? Have you created a test user to reliably confirm?

For avatar approval ensure you've moderators set to review notifications within CB > Configuration > Moderation. Next edit your user within CB > User Management and ensure your user is configured to receive notifications. Next edit the avatar field within CB > Field Management and under Parameters > Image Limits ensure "Upload Approval" is set to "Normal CB Default" (if approval globally enabled in CB > Configuration > Moderation) or "Yes".

I just made a new "testuser" as registered user, logged on with CB login module (the only one present) and it showed no "last visit". I then Uploaded a user photo (avatar) and it went through with no approval and no notification to me.

After I sent out my mass mailing encouraging people to log on, I have listings of 7 people who had a last visit, including my own. However, even with my own Registered User account, it showed a visit for March 6, although I have logged in since then. I did it again just now and now change to last visit showing. I have 82 registered users and I know I won't get 100%, but I'm sure I would get more than 7. And, I know that those two who added avatars had to have logged in and there is no last visit for them.

I'm attaching a screenshot of my moderation config. for CB. I'm also attaching screenshot of avatar parameters.

As for "User configured to receive notifications", I see "Receive Moderator Emails" but nothing about notifications. I've always had "Receive Moderator Emails" set to no, because I thought that meant they would get emails sent to moderators.

Anything I'm misunderstanding or missing?

Doug

PS: New information. The last visit for "testuser" and my own latest login just update after Logoff. Maybe that's the way it is supposed to be. However, I know I was logging on and off with my Registered user account yesterday (Mar 7) and it never did update from the last visit registered for the 6th

Another weird thing. I think I may have noticed this before but I haven't usually seen private messages to other registered users. I notice that when logging on to "testuser" there are two Private messages listed. They appear to be automated "Welcome aboard" messages from two users rarely log on but were last seen visiting the website on Dec 16 and Dec 17. Can a user set up an automated welcome message? Where would that come from?

Another possible factor. I recall that on Feb 5 2016 I started using CComment with CB integration. I'm looking that over to see if there is anything that would conflict but I don't see (or understand) where there would be an impact. I had another comment system that was failing, so I purchased the pro version of CComment because it seems to work well and I really want lots of opportunity for interaction.

CB does not control the lastvisitDate at all. It is entirely handled by Joomla in Joomlas login API. You could have something installed that's acting on Joomla login behavior causing your issue. More specifically it's done directly below.

IN: plugins/user/joomla/joomla.php
ON: Line 235
Code:
// Hit the user last visit field $instance->setLastVisit();

This is also called on frontend logout. All handled by Joomla and not by CB. I'm unable to confirm your issue and on login and logout the last visit date is updating in all my tests.

As for "User configured to receive notifications", I see "Receive Moderator Emails" but nothing about notifications. I've always had "Receive Moderator Emails" set to no, because I thought that meant they would get emails sent to moderators.

Please see my above reply. I explained exactly how you must configure it to receive the notification. If you set "Receive Moderator Emails" to "No" then you'll never receive any moderator notifications. This is explained in the CB 2.0 Primer Book. You may also want to watch the below videos to become more familiar with CBs configuration.

CB Auto Welcome and CB Auto Actions can both be configured for a welcome message. Believe UddeIM also has something similar built directly into it.

Best way to find out if it's conflicting is to completely disable it then see if issue persists.
