is not used or applied in the printed bills that customer can view/print after succesfull payment. See attachment

P.S. the same goes for the term 'Year' in the item text for which I can't find an override key that causes the word to be translated in here...

That's just the default value of "Invoice Conditions" parameter field in the backend. That field accepts CB replacements.
So you can do overrides to your own setting in language plugins.
Just put as key the exact text in "Custom text for 'Terms and conditions'" of invoice display parameter of CBSubs Settings.
And as value the translated text.
