Hello,

I am currently using CB Paid Subscriptions 4.9.0 and I am trying to configure a Donation plan.According to the documentation and several forum answers, a donation plan should be configured from the Plans menu, and the donation amount should be entered by the user. However, I am facing a major issue:
   
  • The documentation supplied on you site "Community Builder Paid Subscriptions System" (4.1 build 81 / Total Pages: 579) clearly refers to UI elements that do not exist anymore. The documentation (Figure 301) states a field: "Are donation amounts given ?: List of suggested amounts and a free amount field" and also "Suggested amounts: 5,10,20,30,50". Where's these fields in 4.9.0 version ?
  • In CB Subs 4.9.0, there is no “Donation” plan type, no pricing option, and no field allowing to configure or preview how the donation amount is selected by the user.
In the current UI:
  • Setting plan price to 0
  • Disabling auto-renewals
  • Using one-time payments
…does not show any indication in the plan configuration that this will result in a donation flow, nor where or how the user will be prompted to enter an amount.My questions are therefore very concrete:
   
  1. Where exactly (frontend) is the donation amount input rendered in CB Subs 4.9.0 ?
  2. Is this handled at the payment processor level only, without any configurable option in the plan itself ?
  3. Is there any official, up-to-date documentation (post-2016) that reflects the current CB Subs UI ?
At the moment, the documentation and the actual product behavior are not aligned, which makes donation setup extremely confusing.Any clarification from the CB team would be appreciated. I cannot upload PNG images here on the forum as it shows 'Upload failed' (however images are less then 600Kb).

Donation plans are a completely different type of plan. See the below instructions.

First navigate to CBSubs and click the Plans button
 

Next click either of the New buttons on the Plans page
 

Now on the New Plan page in the dropdown set your Plan Type to Donation
 

Finally under the Pricing tab of your new plan you configure how your donation pricing is handled
 

Our donation plans support a free form where users can input the amount, a dropdown select where you've predefined a list of donation options, or both at the same time.

Below is what a free form donation plan looks like. It will look like this on registration, profile, and plan pages.

Hi and thank you for the feedback. I appreciate it.

Indeed now I see the type of product field when creating a new Plan. But I missed it because I tried to edit an existing plan which cannot be modified as per type of product.

An existing plan cannot have its type changed. I suppose you could force this from your database, but it may cause unforeseen issues since we don't permit doing so.
