Required field icon displaying for non-requiered field

Required field icon displaying for non-requiered field was created by mazzitech

I turned off the Required condition on a custom field. The backend profile no longer lists the field as required but the icon persists on the from end registration form. Is there any way to get the flag turned off. I tried to unpublished the field and republished it, I have cleared the caches, thru Joomla and my browser. Can anyone help?

I don't see how this is possible at least not with CB 1.9.1 and latest Joomla 2.5.22 and Joomla 3.3.1 environments I tested.
