Setting site administrator permissions was created by Hazel1919
Hi there,

We are currently in the process of porting the website that manages our open source project over to Joomla/CB. www.metalbot.org/metalbot

At the moment we have three administrators.

These administrators need backend access to SOME of the menus in the Admin CP...

I am the super user and have made another group called 'administrators'.

I have made a test account to test the administrator group.

So I log into the backend using the test account that is in the administrator group and NONE of the backend menus EXCEPT for the community builder menu item, are visible.

Here is a screenshot of what the administration control panel looks like for a user in the ADMIN group at the moment...

I have the following user groups:

Public
|—Guest
|—Registered
|—|—Developer
|—|—Editor
|—|—Moderator
|—|—|—Administrator
|—Super User

this is how the access levels look for the administrator group...

And finally the global permissions settings for the administrator group...

Many thanks in advance,

Jethro.

EDIT: For those struggling with a similar issue here is my question on the Joomla Forums... forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=706&t=888432&p=3305185#p3305185

So after some research it seems like it comes down to specific permissions on the components in global configuration.

I apologize if this is beyond the scope of Community Builder free support! :P

I will go ask on the Joomla! forums.

Well this is frustrating... been struggling for the better part of the day.

The reason I think this issue has something to do with community builder is because the CB menu is the ONLY thing that is displayed on the backend for users in the administrator group.

I can give someone both backend access as a super user and an administrator so that you can see the problem you selves, just let me know.

Many thanks in advance for you kind patience.

Jethro.

It is a Joomla permissions issue.

You should really never be denying anything from super users group.
