in order to have a short registration form can i ask only some fields during registration and the others one (mandatory) after confirmation link?
Yes, but they won't be required to fill them in unless they want to update their profile.

Create a field that's set to be required then set it to not show on registration. When they go to profile edit they'll be required to complete the field in order to update their profile. There's no way to enforce it beyond that.
