Your host may not allow outbound emails from domains other than your own. Set "From Name" and "From Email Address" as needed within GJ > Configuration > Notifications > General to send from the same domain your site is on then retest.

The Wall isn't group message. That doesn't send an email unless the owner has enabled the notification to do so. Group Message is a feature the owner can utilize to mass-message everyone in the group.
