Moderators seem to have quite expansive editing/deleting rights (understandably they need it to moderate the site). Is it possible to do the following :-
Prevent moderators from creating Groups.
Prevent moderators from seeing certain Profile Tabs.
If the above is not possible, is there anywhere we can give rights to certain usergroup to :-
In CB GroupJive? I guess if you use a redirect action in CB Auto Actions on the gj_onBeforeDisplayGroupEdit trigger if [var2_id] is equal to 0 otherwise nope.

Yup, latest CB Conditional can condition tabs/fields to show to users that are or are not moderators. Note this applies to the profile owner and not the person editing the profile. So it may not be what you're asking for.
Edit certain user fields.
That's doable using CB Conditional.
Reset/change a user's password.
Nope.
