I've only seen that happen when the domain doesn't match. How did you create your site key? Did you use the button in CB > Configuration > Integrations or did you manually type in your domain? The button sends the domain exactly as Joomla will provide it. Am working to improve the error output so it provides the domain Joomla is sending us (note it's sha256 encoded so we're only comparing hash values, we don't see the actual domain).Why would the key be recognized once, then not again?
