The requested URL /cb-profile/pluginclass/cb.profilebook was not found on this server

I (and my users) get this error when clicking into the Profile link on my site, Edit my profile, then Profile Blog, then New Blog.

I have updated the plugin to ps_cbprofilebook_3.1.0+build.2018.08.07.12.37.52.54e7b6606.zip downloaded today, but still get the same error.

CB is 2.4.5+build.2020.07.14.01.09.48.ba8ad3030 on Joomla 3.9.12 with kunena 5.1.18

Any ideas?

Many thanks,

Brian

If I turn off Search Engine Friendly URLs it works, but I'd rather keep this setting turned on.

Seams to work fine on our demo site with SEO enabled. The URL should be like the following.

/PROFILE-MENU-ALIAS/pluginclass/cb.profilebook?action=entry&func=new&mode=b&userid=YOUR_USER_ID

If your URL is just the following then something is removing the parameters.

/PROFILE-MENU-ALIAS/pluginclass/cb.profilebook

What are your SEO settings exactly in Joomla? Are you using a 3rd party SEO extension?

Thanks, after the https:// and the domain name, the rest of the URL is:

cb-profile/pluginclass/cb.profilebook?action=entry&func=new&mode=b&userid=123

We are not using any 3rd party SEO extension that I'm aware of. We use admintools and akeeba backup of course. The SEO options in admintools are not enabled.

Any suggestions on how to debug this, or logs to look at would be welcome :-)

Thanks

Brian

The URL looks completely correct. What are your "SEO Settings" within Joomla global configuration? If "Use URL Rewriting" is set to "Yes" be sure you've your htaccess.txt file renamed to .htaccess in Joomla root. This has been reported in the past with another plugin that has a period in its element, but we were unable to reproduce the issue and suspect 3rd party conflict.

forge.joomlapolis.com/issues/7350

You can however workaround the issue by creating a Joomla menu item for CB ProfileBook. To do this create a new Menu in Joomla under Menus > Manage > Add New Menu and create a menu called Hidden. If you already have a menu for hidden menu items you can skip that step. Next create a new menu item under Menus > Hidden > Add New Menu Item with a Type of Community Builder > Plugin then set Plugin to CB ProfileBook. This will cause the "/cb-profile/pluginclass/cb.profilebook" portion of the URL to become whatever that menu items menu alias is removing "cb.profilebook" from causing potential problems.

Aha!

It turns out I already had that hidden menu item. I disabled it, but the error still happened. I then re-enabled it, but changed it to something else, then back to CB Profile Book and it now works. :cheer:

Many thanks!
