Is there a way to also include data from a database that is not CB related in a CB list? In the columns settings the dropdown only shows comprofiler fields.

Yes, but you will need to query for that information using CB Query Field and its Query fieldtype. You will not be able to search those fields though.

To document for those who might be looking for this kind of solution:
I have a database table #__fab_hosts which contains data columns "user_id" and "hostprefecture".
I created a new CB field of type Query with the Title "Host Prefecture"and the Name "cb_fabhostprefecture"
Then, in the Parameters/Query tab I typed
SELECT `hostprefecture` FROM `#__fab_hosts` WHERE `user_id` = '[user_id]';
From there I went to my list and under Columns I was able to select the new CB field "cb_fabhostprefecture" and the data from the related table was visible.
