What version did you update from? We add more "Name Format" options within CB > Configuration recently, but existing should be completely untouched. We never had a name format that showed last name first then first name, but that's doable now with the Custom name format. Aside from that name display on profile could be "User Profile Page Title" tab if you're referring to the name in the canvas, which was untouched and just renders the formatname field.
