You can change the system name within CB Activity parameters. It also supports language strings. This however will change it for all system activity. There is no per-activity system override functionality.
Would creating an actual user, called for example "Sponsor" make sense or is that going to be a complicated process with the Auto Actions you recommended?
Yes, I suppose you could assign the activity to a specific user. In the first auto action remove the following.
Code:
$ad->set( 'system', 1 );
Then change the following.
Code:
$ad->set( 'user_id', USER_ID_HERE );
Replace USER_ID_HERE with the user id of the user you want to own this activity.
I'm not sure what you have in store to integrate sponsored posts. I'm figuring a sponsor would set up their own user account and be able to buy ads, that would end up on feeds. How and at what frequency could be a huge undertaking though. In any case, I'm looking forward to what's in store
Sponsor post design isn't finalized yet, but it's planned to be mostly configured in the backend. It's possible frontend configuration behavior will be added, but I can't really say for now as it's too early.
The other idea I have is to possible add a sidebar on the same page as the Activity feed too that could display/cycle through ads. Possibly even embed adsense code.
You should be able to do that already by just using a Joomla module on the page.
