(sigh) is it the editor that's doing this? Or something in the module. Of course it looks fine in the editor interface, but the actual EMAILS its sending out have no images! (I just got one today on one of my test accounts).
I paste the proper full links in and save, then when I re-open they are stripped out again to relative links. How can i get this to stop happening?
"Apply email/PM template" is set to No...
Any hints are much appreciated!

That's your editor doing that. If using TinyMCE edit it within Extensions > Plugins and review its parameters carefully. My guess is it's the "URLs" parameter needing to be set to Absolute instead of Relative.

Thanks for the tip! TinyMCE is the Joomla default editor - and URLs are set to "absolute" in its configuration pages... - except not in the "administrators" usergroup set! ...those were somehow sitting at relative ( fixed now!)
