Let's take the following example,
Within Tab Details there is the cb_details_gender field. I need to make it appear in a Custom HTML field within the same tab and not to be visible in its current position (but only inside Custom HTML).
If I do "Not shown on profile" and call it in the Custom HTML as raw output [cb_details_gender] I get GENDER_FEMALE and not Female which would be the case of [cb:userfield field="cb_details_gender " /]. If I leave it as "show on profile", it is visible twice, both inside Custom HTML field and in another place in the Tab Details.

Placing cb_details_gender  in another Tab would work but it wouldn't make sense for the user especially when in edit profile.
Changing ALL values of cb_details_gender, is not an option either I suppose....

Replied by krileon on topic Substitutions
Only way to do that is move it to a tab that's in a not shown on profile position. HTML rendered substitutions respect access permissions so using userfield substitution while setting the field to not display on profile means it won't display.
