That's basically the idea, yup! To deprecate CB Articles and CB Blogs and let the CMS handle article management entirely for both. This likely won't happen until CB 3.x though as we need to implement it for both Joomla and WordPress.
For now though will get around to that feature ticket when time permits. Close to wrapping up all the internal notifications in CB Activity 6.0.0.
