Is there anything to prepare or be aware of when making plans to upgrade a website that has many of the CB plugins when going from J3 to J4? I am hoping its a relatively seamless and pain-free step!
If you're upgrading the existing install from Joomla 3 to Joomla 4 just be sure you've latest CB releases installed and you should be fine. We use very little Joomla API which helps us be nearly immune to Joomla version changes and what API we do is primarily done through a middleware so it's easy for us to fix.
