Configuring Upload Option in Group Activity Post

It's throwing a validation error that what you're trying to upload is in the acceptance list of extensions. It however isn't showing any extensions so something is wrong here. The auto action by default just inherits whatever you've configured the global CB Gallery settings to so that's probably where your issue is is within CB Gallery > Parameters, but if you made a copy of the system action you can just edit the parameters in your copy instead.

Strangely, I tried all sorts of image file types (jpg, jpeg, png), but they all throw the same error. (I added these extensions in the validation section. The uploads seem to work okay inside the CB gallery, so the only issue is when someone tries to post an image in the activity feed. Is it possible I messed something up in the activity feed settings?

 
 
 

That's for File validation. You're uploading a Photo. Is Photo uploads enabled?

It is, I think I have enabled it in CB Gallery & CB Activity Stream.   Is it possible it's a permission issue with user groups?

It might be the Access in your global CB Gallery parameters. Try setting it back to Registered and see if that resolves your issue. It's possible there might be a bug with that check. Please also check what you've set for the Gallery tab in CB > Tab Management as mentioned earlier it will inherit from the profile gallery BEFORE the global parameters. So the order is CB Activity Overrides > Gallery Tab > CB Gallery Plugin since stream uploads are always to profile gallery.

 

1. I changed all the settings on the CB>Tab Management> Galleries to "Global," which seems to have eliminated the error message.

I also tested the access level Registered and then reverted to my other Access level (Members - View), and it still worked.

When I set parameters to "Same as Global," where are the global settings configured? 
Would this be the CB Gallery Plugin, and would it apply to Tabs and all the Activity Streams (Activity: Edit Activity Stream)

2. I'm not sure what you meant by "Profile Gallery "when you mentioned "it will inherit from the profile gallery BEFORE the global parameters."

Same as Global is within CB Gallery > Parameters. The exception here is inherited galleries. CB Activity uploads to the Profile gallery. This is the gallery tab in CB > Tab Management. So it inherits from that tab first.

I understand the confusion. Just bear with me for a bit longer as CB Gallery 3.0 eliminates all of this. Galleries will be centrally located and configured in a single location. No more searching all over the place. So for example there's a "CB Activity - Activity" gallery in CB Gallery 3.0 right now and that controls uploads on activity streams exclusively. So all of this goofiness is going away.
