Custom URL in Profile Hack

Can this be turned into a TAB or plugin instead? Maybe I can figure it out. I've done modules before but not plugins...

That way there doesn't need to be a hack.

even with a plugin, it still reqiure htaccess modification, but off the top of my head, using a plugin will mean users can customize their own custom url

To answer my own question I'VE MADE MY FIRST PLUGIN!

This plugin shows the user's URL in a CB tab (with custom url activated/mod rewrite of course).

Anyone who wants to test it before I release it let me know via pm.

Tony, I like what you've done wiht your site, golfspace. the about me section, is that a modified section of the users profile? how many plugins you have for the users profile? and how did you get the alternating grey white background for each entry the user makes? thanks.

Hi, I'm new around here, but I've decided to put in my two cents on this topic. I've made a plugin to display the user's URL in their profile, regardless of which method you use to SEF your URL's. It has configurable options in the tabs panel. Please note that this is not a method of changing the URL itself, nor allows users to do so, just a way to display the link to the profile on the profile.

On my site I use sf404SEF to alter my URL's, but, as I stated above, for any method of SEF you use, this plugin can adapt to it. Please also note that this does not support user ID's, only usernames, which seems like the only thing anyone around here (including me) wants.
