Gender Plugin - shows gender icon on your profile

I never could find out how to get the error message off that says

<font size=1 color=#FF0000>Gendertab is missing the name of the DropDown field where CommunityBuilder stores the gender data</font><br/>

So I went into the com_profiler --> Plugin --> User --> plug_cbgendertab and edited the gender.php file.

There is on line 24 the error message I quoted above and I just took that out. Now it doesn't show and my gender icons work now!

How to display the Gender Plugin like a stand alone plugin ? I dont like to be displayd in Status Tab

sorry for asking, but i am going crazy:
No way to get the gendertab work.

It shows always both icons for "unknown".
Doesn't matter if i choose female or male. I am not able to configure that way that if i choose female that the female icon apears. Always both (unknown).

Who can help?
Any exact instruction how to do / setup?

I would apreciate help.
